John Andrews, President and Chief Executive Officer Evans Data Corporation, argues that developers simply wait and hesitant to work with Windows Vista, because “new operating system has more than predostatochno problems”: a problem with drivers, incompatibility of software, high hardware requirements.
Forecasts for next year more positive. It is expected that Vista will work with 24 per cent of developers. However, ahead of XP and can not be, since she devote its attention 29 per cent of developers. These data suggest a much more bright future for Vista. More strife for Microsoft will bring invasion Linux. Despite the progress predicted for Linux, a much more modest than for Vista – Evans Data estimated 15 per cent in 2009, developers will write software for Linux – they indicate that the developers slowly but surely turn away from Windows.

Facts about the future of Windows XP – support till 2014
Last year, users expressed their protest against the cessation of support for Windows XP corporation Microsoft. And we heard them. Therefore, we defer its plan to halt sales of the OS until June 30, 2008. We like the way you like Windows XP. We saw it on our web site, through e-mail, as well as through independent online petition. Our engineers are working hard not hand over the creation of innovative software that would meet the needs of our customers. This is a good thing when you tell us what we have done something in another way. But our commitment to innovation sometimes means doing the hard choices. And this is one of them.
After careful negotiations with our customers and partners, we decided to continue our plan gradually stop selling Windows XP in June. We plan to support Windows XP until 2014. We know that there have been many questions about our plans.
Let us be clear: although Windows XP and will no longer be sold in stores, Microsoft Corporation and its partners will continue to offer technical support for Windows XP for many months and years. In fact, Microsoft plans to provide technical support for Windows XP until 2014. We are proud of Windows XP – software product, which was able to obtain recognition of hundreds of millions of people worldwide over the past eight years. But technology does not stand on the spot. And we also can not do so.
